Glimpse of Winter

Winter as we know it in Scandinavia with months of frost and the land covered in a thick layer of snow is no longer common in Denmark. I would say it is never happening anymore.
A week with frost, then some days with thaw, and then maybe frost again.
I rarely get the chance to make decent winter photography unless I travel further North to Norway, Sweden or even further.

This year was different. Denmark was literally frozen for almost a month, and I spent many days visiting some of my favourite locations. One day I went to a nature reserve together with my friend Simon. We were not alone out there. Many photographers wanted to try their luck on this beautiful location.
Just after sunset we were all alone, and as we were sitting at the bank of the lake with half of our gear already packed down, suddenly the fox appeared on the frozen lake.
A last little surprise to us from nature – just before closing time.
